Queenie is an extraordinary entertainer, captivating audiences with her profound ability to evoke deep emotions while bringing laughter, empathy, and awareness. Her versatility sets her apart, seamlessly transitioning between various genres such as musical theatre, cabaret, plays, film, television, and comedy.
Throughout her illustrious career, Queenie has achieved notable accomplishments, including roles on television shows like Upright II and The Newsreader, critically acclaimed performances in plays such as Women of Troy and Abigail’s Party, with her film credits including Scooby Doo and Girl Clock. In musical theatre, she’s garnered awards for performances in shows like Next to Normal and Into the Woods, and her distinguished cabaret career has seen her tour the world in shows such as Smoke & Mirrors and BLUE: The Songs of Joni Mitchell.
As the driving force behind her boutique production house, Amazon Woman Enterprises, Queenie has created award-winning theatre shows, released five albums, and nurtures the cult following of her comedy alter-ego Jan van de Stool, with regular online offerings and performances.
For over two decades, Queenie has also been one of Australia's most respected arts educators, and in 2015, she co-founded The Australian Musical Theatre Academy (AMTA), which brings together top-tier industry professionals and gifted students.
With a staggering 22 theatre award nominations and 9 wins, Queenie van de Zandt continues to receive recognition for her immense talent.
