The Sixties Songbook of Frank and Nancy Sinatra

Danielle O’Malley (Cilla-You’re My World) is back with an all-singing, all-swinging tribute to this legendary father-daughter duo which proves beyond the shadow of a doubt….two Sinatras are definitely better than one!!

Frank and Nancy were the height of 60s cool.

Nancy had become a fashion icon singing These Boots are Made for Walkin’ in her beehive and go-go boots while Frank was topping the charts with his easy listening classics Strangers in the Night & My Way and ruling over Vegas as ‘Chairman of the Board’ of the legendary Rat Pack.

And let’s not forget their smash hit love duet Something Stupid – who’s bright idea was that? It remains to this day the only father-daughter duet ever to hit Number 1. Now that’s taking ‘bring your daughter to work day’ to a whole new level!

Songs and stories of not one iconic Sinatra – but two.

What’s it like to have had both Ava Gardner and Mia Farrow as step mum? And to take Ol’ Blue eyes along to you parent teacher evenings? Nancy has a few insights. And Frank can certainly tell us a thing or two about getting chased around the music charts by your own daughter.

Christmas dinner with the Sinatras? Definitely above average carolling!

Songs include: These Boots are Made for Walkin’, My Way, You Only Live Twice, That’s Life, The Best is Yet to Come, Summer Wine, Nice N’ Easy, Sugar Town, It Was a Very Good Year, Bang Bang (my baby shot me down), Strangers in the Night & (almost inevitably) Somethin’ Stupid!

Accompanied by a swinging little 3 piece band.

what people are saying.

Danielle performed The Songs of Cilla Black as part of Arts Centre Melbourne’s Morning Melodies season. It was a cracker of a show that the audience loved and we would gladly have her back again. She not only has a fabulous voice, but a talent for storytelling that made her performance something special.

“We were delighted with Danielle O’Malley’s performance as Cilla Black in her show “You’re My World”. Our audience response was very positive. This show was also an easy show to sell. It had one of the highest audiences this year for our matinee series. Melissa is a great producer to deal with; prompt in her replies and providing information, which is what we all like as venue managers.”

Melissa Langton and Winding Road Productions have supplied the Clocktower Centre with several productions, and each one has been very well received.
In particular, You’re My World: the Cilla Black Story was a very easy sell for us in our Morning Music program. The show sold out completely and our audience loved it. The marketing materials were great, the presentation and performance of a high standard and we received some lovely feedback from our regulars.

I wish to congratulate you on the excellent choice of Danielle O’Malley who performed the songs of Cilla Black yesterday. Together with her musical backing her show was altogether dynamic! Indeed, I have not been so greatly impressed over all the 20 + years of my attendance. I know that you have already got next year’s shows organised. Perhaps in the not too distant future you could have Danielle back again to entertain us.

Happy Patron. The Victorian Arts Centre
